Newly elected Vice President chairs European Members’ Meeting in Hamburg

Dr. Hans-Werner Kortmann elected last month DFK Regional Vice President for Europe, Middle East & Africa chaired the 21^st. annual meeting of the European members held coincidentally in his home city of Hamburg.   Dr. Kortmann is senior audit partner of Esche Schümann Commichau, DFK’s member firm in north Germany

A record number of delegates representing 23 countries attended the 2007 meeting. The meeting was preceded by the annual European Tax Seminar which examined amongst other topics investment structures in Germany for strategic and financial investors and royalty structures for tax planning.

In his opening address at the main meeting Dr. Kortmann highlighted the growing opportunities available to mid tier firms if they can demonstrate that the resources of their international association can deliver fast responses and closely coordinated quality work for clients.   With this in mind delegates attended a choice of workshops examining how DFK firms currently work together and use available resources, and additional tools needed to improve communications and services to clients.
